Don Boyd has been a National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) open rider for almost 40 years. During this time he has trained and shown high caliber reining horses in the US and Europe and been a NRHA World Champion twice. From 2010 he started concentrating on giving clinics and judging reining events. He has coached World-Futurity-, Derby- and FEI Champions in the US, as well as in Europe. To Don, Reining shows off the skills and athletic abilities that were necessary in the working ranch horse and have now evolved into a high caliber sport. Reining has increased vastly in popularity over the last ten years, making Don even more proud to be part of those who pass knowledge on. This book is a reflection of a lifelong passion and a collection of thoughts fueled by decades of experience with horses, riders and the sport of reining itself. A true inspiration and reference to come back to time and time again for all reining enthusiasts.

The book has a German and an English part.

Based on a life long experience of working with horses and students of the western riding style Don Boyd decided to create his own bit collection in 2016 along with german bit makers Crown Bits&Spurs. Just 6 months after the first sketches were sent back and forth, and the samples had been exchanged, the final design took shape and offered a ground breaking solution. „The Slow Pull Shank“  is an innovative design by Don, that allows a long, slow signal in the bit before the horse feels pressure. The shanks also allow for the chin strap to ride higher , which in many cases gives the horse a more balanced, confident feel !

All BRI Collection correction bits, apart from the Fair Square, feature „ball-type connections“ in the mouth piece for a softer contact between the bars of the mouth and the bit.

All bits also feature the signature B on the side pieces.

All BRI Bits are designed along NRHA and AQHA regulations and may be used in the show pen.
